To all at Stagecoach!

Last year you were kind enough to help us spread the word about an
exciting new children's science show called 'Richard Hammond's Blast
Lab'. I am pleased to say that the show was a success and I am e-mailing
you regarding the new series.

I am working for September Films, an independent TV production company
who are working with Richard Hammond to produce a children's
entertainment and science based TV show, that he will co-produce and
present.

The show will be going on TV on CBBC/BBC2 and we are looking for teams
of 3 children aged between 8-12 years old to apply to be the show as
contestants.

They don't need to be science geeks to take part but must like
entertaining challenges, have great team sprit and having some interest
in science would help.

I am therefore contacting groups, organisations and schools around the
country to ask that you could help us reach as many children as possible
and raise the interest of the show and hopefully get as many children to
apply to be on the programme as possible.

I have attached a flyer to this e-mail and am asking that if you have a
school newsletter, that you could place an advert about the show in
that, or possibly put it up on a school notice board or hand it out to
children at your school and if you have one, to those that attend your
science club. The Flyer has been approved by the BBC so please do not
change the wording on it, but contact me if this poses any problems.

It would also be great if you could let me know where and if you have
been able to help and how so I can know if applicants have come from
hearing about it through you?

It explains on the attached flyer that if children are interested in
applying then they need to log on to the website -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/help/tvhelp/beonashow_blastlab.shtml

Where they will need to click on 'Richard Hammond's science show', down
load an application form, fill it in and send it to us. On the form
children will be advised that they must have parents' permission before
completing the form and be available for filming during the first three
weeks of August.

The deadline for applying is Monday July 6th 2009. We will then contact
only those selected to discuss a further possibility that they may
appear on the show. Please note applying does not automatically
guarantee them a place on the show - so be inventive when filling in the
form in order to stand out!

I really appreciate all your help with this and look forward to hearing
from you.

If you have any further questions please do call me, all my contact
details are below.

Yours Sincerely

Nicola
